Agreed. Not worth the money.

It's short ram intake or SRI.

Ram air does nothing for these cars except funnel dirt into your filter. The Mach-1 setup is the only really good setup you'll get on a Mustang.

Is there anyone on here that has a stock intake set up with just a K&N insert? I ask because I am curious what your IAT's are. Jerry and I did some data logging in Myrtle Beach of his JLT RAI vs my JLT CAI just to see the difference. My IAT's stayed on average 25 degree's colder than his at every speed.

I actually was data logging my car on the way home tonight (for nitrous), and my IAT's were staying at 50 degree's, and it's 67 degree's here.

That's interesting that yours stays cooler than his. Where does his pick up the air from? If it's way down low, on a hot day it's going to suck up the hot air radiating off the pavement. Yours obviously from the fenderwell.

Somewhat related... K&N's "heat shield" doesn't do **** for the FIPK intake except block 1/3rd of the filter.

The JLT RAI picks up the same place as your FIPK.

I used to have a BBK CAI but felt that it was causing more bad than good so I switched it to the stock intake that you described and got some $ for the BBK piece. I haven't had a chance to see what the IAT's are but I will post them when I get a chance.

When I first bought my 02, it had a BBK cai on it. I honest to goodness could tell a difference going from the BBK to the JLT.

But yes if you dont care to, find out what the temperature is outside and get some IAT readings. I am curious to see what they are.

FWIW, I have a stock air intake with a K&N filter and a removed silencer.

On a cool night, at highway speeds, I pull IATs that are just slightly above the outside air temperature. For example, the other night when it was 37 degrees as the low, my IATs were between 37-41 at 70 mph. At highway speeds, the IATs are usually ~ 1-5 degrees higher than the outside temperature. Sometimes less, sometimes abit more. I wish I had "stock" numbers to compare to. Anyone?
