I like my K&N FIPK and I liked paying less than $200 for it. All CAI's are going to give you relatively the same performance (within a few HP). I made my decision based on price and looks. It all depends on what you like.

Skip the CAI and get gears. I have a BBK looks nice gave a little better throttle response. That is all I really noticed. Don't make my mistake get something better (ie. GEARS).

The connection BBK give for the vaccuum line is super cheap and I had to Duct Tape the p.o.s. to keep it from kinking!! The chrome looks good though.

Somebody was tellin me that instead of where the aftermarket CAI filter sits, they have another downtube that grabs air from the bumper so its not grabbin too much hot engine air. Anyone hear of this?

they are both good

i chose the demolet over k&n and jlt because they offered a version that mated up to my lightning 90mm maf without needing an extra adapter...plus it fits under the strut tower brace and i had it painted to match my car.

www.jlttruecoldair.com . Macs are pretty much junk, DO NOT BUY THEM! And definatly dont get their MAF...it will just screw your A/F up.

JLT is awsome, I love (d) mine....but dont need it now that the turbos are going on.

man.....

http://www.yellowmustangregistry.com/MAC.html

Horsepower Gains: As the above numbers show, there was an approx. 4 HP and 4 lb/ft of torque increase by simply adding a cold air intake and exhaust after the catalytic converters (catback). By adding a cold air intake, it sometimes causes the air/fuel ratio to become more rich than it should be thus preventing the real gains that are available. This turned out to be the case on our car. By leaning out the mixture at the mass air meter (MAF), the car pulled drastically harder and reached a peak of 12HP and 10 lb/ft of torque gain! So we recommend purchasing an aftermarket component that will modify the air/fuel ratio manually (such as the MAFterburner) or the Pro-M Optimizer in addition to the cold air kit. This helps get the full potential out of the intake/exhaust combo.

i dont know how much of that 12hp was from the cai, but they are NOT junk !

Ok, more air means LEAN. Adding a CAI should never make you go rich...or basically its messing with something. That MAF is jacking things up, and basically what you are doing is fooling the computer...thats not a good idea.

Ok, catbacks on our cars generally make 6-9RWHP dependant on type. Stock GT tune is RICH...I believe its around 12-1. most of that gain came from leaning the AF.

Look at the chart.

Stock was 232
CAI and CB= 235
Leaning the AF= 243 . (VERY simular conditions).

Basically they got 8RWHP from leaning the A/F. Frm the stock tune...there is at LEAST 4RWHP from leaning the A/F to 13-1. Makes you wonder how much the MAC screwed the A/F up...and since most people dont dyno tune their CAIs. Throwing on a MAC will not get you anything....and leaning the AF yourself is risky as you dont know where its at. And on the street (HOT) that metal is going to get VERY hot and further reduce gains.

Ill stand by my statement...dont get a mac lol. Ill say that the mac at best gained 4RWHP over a stock setup with God knows how many miles on the filter.

yea. Not knocking you or anything lol...I was VERY close to buying one myself, but everyone talked me out of it. IMHO its better than the other ones available (straight shot that is), besides the FIPK,demelot, and JLT.

I think if you didnt get the MAF with the kit, there would be no AF problems and would robably make some decent gains right off the bat.
