Dont get me wrong I think its a good idea as far as the drunk driving but when you put toghether everything else about California it makes you wonder why the hell anyone, who is straight, would want to live there..

Key Points
* No Smoking in Public
* Most of the worst public disasters come out of there.
* Emissions restrictions -- compare to other states.
* Property values are high as hell.
* And now this? Civil liberties out the window.

And who knows what else. In my opinion I see nothing interesting about California. I live in Florida and the climate is pretty close but a much more relaxed state.

I see nothing wrong with banning smoking, and I also see nothing wrong with setting up check points to get drunk drivers. I also think its a fantastic idea to impound all DUI cars. Dont drink and drive and you will be fine, same with them searching for other stuff thats hidden. Dont have anything illegal in your car and you will be fine.

Btw the Climate in Florida and California are the same in the winter. Florida gets hot as **** about 8 months a year. Where Cali, especially Socal is 75-85 all year round.

Also the reason housing is so high is because everyone does want to live there.

Cali is just a preview of what the rest of the country will be like in 10 years. Besides, I don't drink and drive...and everything in that news report except for cops entering a house to search for alcohol is just fine with me. If you had a DUI...cops should have the right to pull you over whenever and wherever they want to in order to make sure you're still sober. Now coming into a house looking for alcohol, there's nothing illegal in having beer in your fridge, so that's a bit too far I'd say.

Its funny as hell getting pulled over 1 block from the courthouse after getting your license suspended, you have to just be plain stupid.

Anyways, drink and drive, kill yourself....good riddance....kill someone else, fry in the chair.

Nope dont get me wrong I dont drink and drive but I do smoke and my point is that California is so restrictive and its getting worst by the day. Pretty soon everyone in Cali will have to be either a monk or a saint.

Gun ownership sucks in California.
Yeah, Cali doesn't believe a citizen should be able to protect themselves. I will NEVER live in Cali. It is a disease that only an earthquake can cure by separating it from the rest of the country.

No offense to people that live there.:rlaugh:

bars and restaraunts are required to protect employees and patrons from health hazards such as asbestos and food born illness. with 2nd hand smoke being a undisputable health hazard, why not have a smoking in public ban?

Not sure if it ever passed, but here in Jersey they were trying to ban smoking in your own car. I would never live in Ca because of the lack of personal freedom and if I had a choice I would not live in Jersey either, as it seems to be getting as bad as CA. As soon as my kids move out I am hoping to move to a less restrictive state.

I live in Jersey and when it comes to cars its a very anal state. No front tinted windows at all, even 50% if they notice it (i have mine done anyway). No xenon headlights if they have a blue film around them. No sun visor lower than 6 inches. Various other rediculous rules

Untint those windows if you want an o/r h pipe. :D That is what I had to do. Less reason for them to pull you over, if you at least look like you are legal. Also, my inspection is good til 10/08, so I don't have to worry about inspection for awhile, and I think I won't have to worry about it then either, if all works out.

no offense taken, but when you got freeway shootings, high rate of gang shootings killing innocent people they use that as a reason they put those gun laws which i think they are stupid cause like you mention how can we protect ourselves......the worse thing is if they break in to your house you cant shoot them unless they try to attack you. So they can walk off with your tv or other things and all you can do is smile cause if you do anything to hurt them they can throw you in jail for battery :nonono:

I had forgotten all about this thread... I am glad to see that some of you do agree with the fact that California is a analy retentive state that deserves to have all revenue and all major industry revenue diverted to some other state that beleives in basic freedoms. Freedoms that founded this country. Someone had pointed out that California is one of those states that only an earthquake could cure that problem and I second that. If the rest of the states follow in California's way we are all screwed cause you might as well say goodbye to all your civil liberties.

^Yea something that one of the wickedest/worst states in America lies on a huge fault line :) . They say that california's ultimate future lies under the ocean...pretty much its just a matter of time.

Then we wont have to worry about it anymore HAHA.
