Im trying to install a CD player in my Stang, and i checked to see if it worked and all and it did. But i was looking at the wires and they need to be connected stronger, someone was in there before and the wires were all cut and stuff, anyways i redid them all all an now it doesnt work, also the dome light and the map light decided not to work as well, ive checked all the wiring to the radio that i touched everything matches up. I checked all the fuses and none of them are burnt. What can i do, more importantly what did I do? What does it sound like happened. Should i disconnect all the wiring to the radio and try reconnecting them???

Sounds like a fuse to me too. I'd check all fuses again. Also, recheck the connections on all wires; be sure you didn't short something to ground. That sounds like what happened.

Dont flame me man, but what does "short something to the ground mean" i have no idea about electrical stuff. Its a different language.

Shorting power to ground usually either blows fuses or makes smoke and flames. Either way it is noticeable very quickly.

High power stereo (monster amps & speakers) usually requires it's own separate power wiring and grounds.

Add ons like a CD player can be wired to the fuse panel to pick up a switched connection that is connected to the accesory side of the ignition switch. See http://forums.stangnet.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22790 for help.

See the Ford radio wiring PDF for more help. You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

The mostly likely thing is you have connected all the power up but are missing a ground if there are no blown fuses or burn wiring.

make sure you disconnect the ground next time. You probably crossed power to ground and popped a fuse.

Well, after checking the Fuses over again for the 3rd time, i found out that sure enough it was a burnt fuse. I dunno how i missed it, I was getting so ticked off, i was so close to taking it to the shop and having them mess with. GOD BLESS STANGNET!!
