Ok heres the deal, Had an issue with my motor and a hack working on the heads but long story short, I'm rebuilding her, the block has been decked 20thou and I'm currently running a Crane Cams Powermax 2030, The heads are standard E7's that I'm going to either (if is find time) polish myself or have it done. Now, with this setup will I run into any problems with Piston to Valve Clearance? the heads have not been shaved or anything they are just stock!

Any info would be GREATLY Appreciated, gotta getter Done!

a cam expert i am not....... but you dont need one for this.

im going to make some assumptions here.......so follow along

you decked the block .020" because you bought new pistons, and they sat 20 thou under deck...
thus, milling for zero deck height?

if this is the case, you should not have any issues with p/v........but imm make the requisite recommendation of "ALWAYS CHECK".....just because it is PC to do so......

now, if you decked the block for no apparent reason......your going to have pistons that stick out the hole anywhere from .002-.009...... depending on a few different factors. then you need to start thinking of head gasket thickness etc.... you want .030 of piston to deck clearance on a street motor ......generally. you need to know if this is the case!

Hahahaha I wish I knew the previous owner decked the block to raise compression from what he just told me in an email. I'm just replacing Stock Forged pistons with Stock Forged pistons. So Basicly I need to watch my head gasket thickness when putting this mill back together........

So are the heads shaved/decked or not? You need to clarify that.

Beyond that confusion, always check it's the only way to know.
