Just had a couple questions for you guys that have swapped cams. A friend asked me and a buddy how much to charge him to swap cams and springs in his 05 gt. I've done cams in a Lightning before but not in a mustang so im just wondering what the average time frame is to do this in as well as how much of a headache it might be?

also.. any tips??

All depends on your ability. I had never done a cams/springs swap so it took me a couple of days. If you have the right tools it's pretty straight forward. Springs are a bitch, especially exhaust, because of the awkward places to try and reach and see. Be prepared to have the spring compressor slide off the retainers a lot as they are kinda domed. It's also a good idea to tap and thread an allen type bolt thru the top round turn nut on the spring compressor so when it bottoms out, you can compress the spring a little further. Plug all the oil channels below the cams so the keepers don't end up in your oil pan.
You are looking for an average time frame so to give you that is hard. It certainly took me longer than book time cuz I didn't want to screw up and wanted to do it right. If I did it again, it would probably be quicker.

Cams alone will take about 3-4 hours at least. If doing springs for the first time I say at least 12 hours just to do the springs, then the cams will take another hour or 2.
