Is there anyway to tell if I have an aftermarket cam without taking the engine apart? The previous owner did a Thumper head / explorer intake install. I think it would be retarded to re-use the stock cam during a head swap, but I have no idea.

Just curious if there was a way to tell.

Thanks

I guess you could set up a dial indicator on a base and messure valve lift. This could atleast be compared to the lift of a factory cam.
