Check this out!

I saw it on another post and am wondering if anyone has done this on a mustang. If so I would like to see some pictures of it. My 69 is going to be a Daily driver in the summer only so I don't need a heater or ac. and I am thinking about doing this mod.

I think it looks cool. It depends on the car its on.

A friend of mine has a 68 that is a restomod that had the same thing done to it. He has heater and AC. The under dash vents also still work. I guess its because air gets pulled in from the fenders.

You can keep the heater even if you do that. I don't know why this heater delete topic keeps coming up. You may want it some cool night. Also, cars are required to have functional defroster system. I'm not sure what year that started though. My thought is if you ever want to sell it most potential buyers will be turned off by this. If your going to build the car then build it the right way. Thats just my thoughts.

Yeah, I'd agree that it looks great! Quite a few cars have had this done.
Like tx65coupe said you can still have heat and A/C. The only thing this modification eliminates is the fresh air venting.
The other advantage is you can get inside while the cowl is cut up, and clean things out, then seal it real well with something like a POR-15.

Good luck!

I did this to my 66 coupe a few years back when I redid the $6000 paint job that didn't last a year:mad:.... I cut a hole in the firewall under the fender and ran a 3" flex hose to the back side of the heater box. The hose stops just past the top of the tire for maximum draw. I tried a few lengths but that position provided the greatest amount of air draw.
