Cams and gas mileage

before i installed my comps cams i was getting 18-20 mpg consistently now im getting 15-16 mpg after install and tune has anybody else lost this much mileage with cams?

Yes,I'm right in the same ballpark for mileage and loss.

oh well thats part of it..... i havent ran injector cleaner through it in a long time or ever replaced the fuel filter if i do that it may help out a little bit

Not going to help, your CAMS are eating up 2-5 mile per gallon

No such loss noticed...I get 25MPG if im easy on it. 27 on the way for the tune (probably really lean).

My car gets about the same milage as my dads 00 V6...and probably better than stock.

yea cams will suck down gas...but you gotta love the HP gains

I got about 23mpg mixed city and highway with my cams before the blower went on. And that was with my foot in it occasionally. Sucks if your getting that bad of mileage.

I am getting the same gas mileage as before the cams and long tubes, but that is only when I can stay out of the throttle since the tune.. and that's not very often

But REMEMBER that result CAN mean more power....and that means less throttle input than if you didnt have cams.

thats why turbo cars usually get better milage than before the turbos....and S/C cars get the same if not better usually. More effeciency .

It's all in how you drive it, if I drive like a normal every day person then it's the same gas mileage as before. If I get on it then it guzzles the gas

i really dont get on it that much i may hit WOT 3-5 times a tank through a couple gears and driving normal i never get it above 3k or so oh well i dunno

Slow, what do you shift at on a normal day? And how much gas do you give it on takeoff?

Darn this is making me miss driving my car SOOOOO bad . Teh V6 just doesnt do it...its really the sound I miss more than the power....

In regular driving, I have noticed no difference in mileage after my cam install. Now, if I get on it a lot, that's a different story.

now the cams didnt affect my low end much at all if any they are pretty mild ive been trying to shift lower around 2.5k first just revs up so quick lol

troof.. my lowend is horrible now compared to how it was before the cams, and I feel like i'm undergeared as hell

I'm getting about what I was stock. Maybe 1 mpg less but I attribute that to the gears.

oh well it doesnt really matter anymore im looking for a commuter my dad really wants me to get one to take to college and split the cost w/me so ill prolly get a 4cyl fox so i can go wild w/the GT
