Cams+NPI Heads?

I just bought a set of Comp XE268h cams. The specs:

Description: SOHC 2 VALVE- Mild street performance, 3.23-3.55 gears required. Noticeable idle. Tune required.
Model number: COMP102200
Application: 1996-1998 Mustang GT, non-P.I. headed vehicles
RPM range: 1600-5600
Cam grind number: XE268H
Advertised Intake Duration: 268
Advertised Exhaust Duration: 274
Intake Duration at .50": 230
Exhaust Duration at .50": 236
Intake Valve Lift: .500
Exhaust Valve Lift: .500
Lobe Separation Angle: 114 degrees

I'll hopefully be getting them in sometime within the next month. I'll let y'all know how the install goes/the dyno results.

I've heard different things about these cams concerning springs. Are they required? Seems like to me that because they are still the stock .500 lift, and because I won't be turning much more than 5800ish rpm, the stock springs would be fine. But IDK. I haven't really got a definite answer. I was hoping to avoid them for now, but if I have to, then I'll just do it. Thanks for the help
