well good point but anyways. it's more about the driver and not the car. 1st place you have a 996 and look, in dead last 50th you have a 996.

i can keep going on but i'm tired.

I knew somebody was going to say something like that. It's called accidents. If you've ever watched a race, you've seen that cars sometimes make "contact" with one another. This "contact" often results in maintenance requirements that take up many, many laps. That 50th place Porsche was actually lucky it even got back on the track, the damage to that car was huge.

If its more about the driver than the car, why is most of GS made up of very expensive Porsches and not highly economical Mustangs? A team could probably put 5 race prepped Mustangs on the track for the cost of 1 race prepped Porsche. If it's about the driver and not the car, does that not give them 5x the chances of winning? Why don't they do that? Because Mustangs don't win these races very often. Yes, the driver is a factor but a good driver in a bad car is still at a disadvantage to an average driver in a superior car.
In equal cars, yes, the driver is the determining factor.

The only way a N/A GT will run with a competant driver of a C5 or C6 vette is if they are set up strickly for drag and have drag tires.

A street tired GT mustang with 300whp will not outrun a street tired stock C5 because the vette weights less and has more power. Just wont happen unless the vette driver is terrible.

Bring me your car and your checkbook and I'll prove you wrong

300rwhp is a cake walk for a NA GT now. I can get 330+ easily out of a 2V and if you go with a big bore, then forget about it. I'm not saying it's a cheap project, but it's easily done.
