I recently wrecked my 94 gt vert and bought a 96 gt 5 spped. For some reason I cant find ANY performance data on the net or here on stangnet. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I know these kind of questions are getting old but I really cant find any info on these negleted 96's. Also what kind of times/MPH would be seen with 3.73's, an x pipe, catback , C&L plenum and a 75mm tb.

Came stock with 215hp. You may be able to run 14.5 with that setup.

if you want to max out the gains from the TB +plenum ,get the 70mm .Unless your gonna get a full exhaust system "front to back" and intake , then go for 75mm

Stock they are about mid-15's with 215 bhp. They really can use the PI cams and intake. I installed them and they really woke the car up like no other bolt-on could. Those are the two best mods for the time/money. Until then you are fighting a losing game since stock they "poop out" at 4500+ RPM. Your setup I am estimating high 14's.

the performance of the 96 GT can be summed up in 2 words = IT SUCKS

Do a search on PI swap. If you upgrade the heads/cams/intake to the 99up GT you will have a much stronger GT.

Unfortunately! 215 sucked. 98 was tuned a little diferently which gave it the 10 extra ponies.

The performance numbers aren't great at the track either. Depending on the altitude your going to race at you should see mid to high 14's.

My 98' may have had an extra 10 ponies, but I think they were 10 anemic little runts .

not to be changing subject or anything, but i had an oppotunity to drive 91 GT 5speed and 96 GT 5 speed once befor. even tho they have almost identical numbers, 91 GT felt soooo much faster for some reason...
I must say, Ford really didn't do things right when they cameout with 4.6 in 96. they should have waited to install 4.6 on 96, until they got their azz in gear, and came out with PI head befor they installed lukeworm 4.6
