I want to put in my 24's but I don't want to pull the upper intake just to do that, i would rather wait until I buy some heads after christmas. but is it possible to get to the bastards without pulling the upper intake?

Not realyl, not that I've found. Sorry, looks like you need to pull the intake off,.

EDIT: Besides, its not hard ot puill the upper intake off. I cna have an inatake pulled off and replaced in an hour.

Yeah, and half that time is getting that driver's side rear bolt in. What a PITA. Make sure that stubby 3/8s speed wrench is on hand.

And yes, you gotta yank the upper.

yup, yank the upper.....It's really easy. 6 bolts, another 4 to disconnect the TB, some vacuum lines and you are set.

Why would you unbolt the TB to pull the upper intake? Just unbolt the upper intake's 6 5\16" bolts, and the 2 10mm bolts for the TB cable bracket the vacuum lines, and 1 snake clamp on the stock inlet or CAI and your'e good to go.

that works too. I actually did mine that way, lol.....I was just trying to make it seem logical. I dunno, less things to mess with. He seemed hesitant about doint it himself ya know?

How in the @#$% do you torque down the rear bolt on the TFS upper intake? I just tighten it because I never could get to it.
This isnt the proper way but on mine all i did was used an open/closed end wrench and tightened it down bout the same as the other's. No leaks no worries  And no there is almost no way to replace injectors with out pulling the upper, just make shure to lube them when replacing them/ putting them back in.peace

i used studs which made it easier to get to, but there was no way to get to it with a torque wrench; at least i couldn't figure any way to. someone said to to use a dizzy wrench (which sounded like a good idea), but i couldn't find one that fit the nut.

like smokedya, i just tightened it down as best i could to be about the same as the others.

you might be able to the the fuel rails off with the intake still on, but it would be a real pain and the extra time it took would not be worth the extra aggravation of trying to leave the upper on.

fwiw, i would recommend getting a new gasket; mine was a plastic thing that was not in any way reusable.

what about the egr? i'd unhook it at the elbow.

when putting it back together though, it might be easier to disconnect the egr anyway.
