just wondering if i need to pick up a new one, or if this one is still ok? it looks pretty much brand new, except for the oil on the back runner holes, but just wondering if its still ok? and second, what would cause the oil on there?

i always reuse mine but i dont get oil on mine, except for maybe a little coolant. that oil u have there is probably from the pcv. put a oil catch in line.

ok thanks. just wondering if after being compressed it was garbage or something maybe. it looks new other than that oil. no rtv on it or anything, i pretty much could have just breathed on it and it would have slid off... so i was wondering if it could be re-used. its maybe 2 years old, from the rebuild....

I would re-use it but not use any RTV. Those gaskets are designed to not use RTV, that is why you don't see any on there right now.

I disagree. I don't think it helps at all, just makes a mess of things. Why add something that is not supposed to be there?
