Hey can you reuse head bolts if they only have 150 miles on them or am I better off just getting new ones?

Depends if they are torque to yield or not.

I have run 200,000 mile head bolts with no trouble, but I may just be lucky.

If they're just regular ole head bolts then yes.

Typically, 2 to 3 installs is ok with an eye on overall condition and age.

Trefty is 100% correct. If they are Torque to Yield, they are only meant to be used once and the stretch they experience from the initial final-stage torquing makes them unreliable to use again.

ARP head bolts are not T-T-Y, and can be reused. Try ARP.

I agree with the above. DON"T reuse the stock head bolts unless you like taking big chances. The factory only meant them to be used once.
So are they torque to yield (Ford) bolts or ARPs

i reused some torque to yield head bolts on a 20.00 rally car i bought with a blown head gasket and it hasnt caused a problem...but since i assume your mustang was more than 20.00, you should replace em

I think that they'd be fine but I would buy new ones myself....just to be safe.

Lets face it all of us at one time in our life have changed a head gasket and not bought new bolts. I have gotten away with it many times.

I have to agree. I did this a million times when I was alot younger and didn't know any better. Maybe that's why I had to change so many head gaskets!
