Greetings guys!

Can painting a New Water pump cause any problems with cooling capabilities???? Maybe retain heat instead of dissipate it..... i know-you shouldnt paint an Aluminum Radiator, so does the same go for a water pump-Especially if its aluminum???

Many Thanks-Anthony :nice: :flag:

I'm sure painting it would cause the emissive properties of the surface to go down, but I don't think it would really cause a problem. The water pump is cooled more by the fan than anything else. I guess the reason you shouldn't paint a radiator is that it causes the fins to be less effective to convective heat transfer because air can't pass through it as well. I really don't think painting you water pump will affect the cooling of your engine.
