I believe that plugs into the radiator overflow.

I think so too, I think it is black and it is just very dirty or dusty.

Foglight plug probably.......also looks like a coil plug but you would have already figured that out if it was.

In my experience, stangs tend to carry all the wiring possible for all possible options for that year. I've seen empty harnesses dangling all over my 87 and 91.

Take a good look at the attached thumbnails jstang209 posted (particularly the first pick) then go pull off your Rad. overflow tank. Bingo thats it ! Regarless of color (things fade, get painted etc).

I just went outside and pulled the plug off my overflow and that is it, it has those two little pin holes in it just like your'e first pic. Is your car a 4cyl swap car? Maybe that has something to do with it?

I think my overflow tank plug looks different than that? Probably because it is a 4 cylinder car your looking at.

Just a FYI, but I have fog light wiring harness connectors on my Lx.

Pic on the left is for fog lights. You'll find another one on the pass side.

Pic on the right is coolant overflow sensor.

If you install the GT warning light setup, you can install the coolant sensor and get it to work.

I have done that myself.
