Can the stock Mustang tach get a signal from an MSD box?

Right now I have no tach signal as the supposed "green" wire off the bigstuff doesn't seem to exist according to the instruction manual. Has anyone used the signal off the MSD box to their stock tach before?

I think you did something wrong.
I have been using the stock tach on my 6AL for several years.

I don't remember how I wired it, but it didn't cause me any confusion at the time.

I hope some one else can provide more detail...
but yeah, it can be done...
and should be pretty straight forward.

EDIT: I have no idea what you mean with the term "bigstuff"?

LOL, maybe you are confused by my question.

My entire stock wiring harness is gone in my car, I now run a Bigstuff3 standalone system www.bigstuff3.com

I was just curious to know if I could take my stock tach signal and run it to my MSD as the original signal no longer exists.

for the msd i believe you need there tach adapter to run stock tach. my stock tach would not work with the msd ignition. had to but the tach adapter.

On the 87-93 you don't need anything but the MSD box. I use the MSD 6AL and there is a female terminal that is set into the box. Just put a male spade on your tach's input lead and you should be good to go. I have a 93 GT fwiw.
