I am 21 and have a long history with cars... I was brought up on chevy, moved over and built my self a 350hp import, started racing that, realized that I needed something more reliable that would still be fun and quick to bag on..
So here is what I got..
1978 Mustang Cobra II
95xxx Orig Km's
Black on tan interior.
Rollbar W/ Door bars.
Frame is cross tied,
Centerline wheels.
B&m ratchet shifter.
Stock 302 out of a 76 II.. (for aircare purposes)
Now for the good fun..
I dont have all the details for this motor, As I will be getting the build sheet for it when I talk to my uncle next.. This is what I know off the top of my head, all parts have less than 10hours of run time on them..
289 HIPO
Balance & blue printed
Keith Black 10(ish):1 pistons
351w heads, shaved/ported/polished.
Solid Lifter setup/roller rockers
Some ungodly huge cam,
alum intake manifold
headers
with a C4 Manual valve body tranny and a 3500 stall
And 9" with 3.55's
The car has been sitting since 1992, with the air care motor in it.. Fired up first try.. I plan on driving the 302 aircare motor that is in it for a while untill i can figure out what to do with the 289 as there was clearly a design flaw made by the machine shop that built it..
Now the story behind the car.. My uncle started building this car through the 80's With having a wild street car, that would turn numbers down the strip..
He had the engine built buy local guys that were turning out 10 seccond cars like they were nothing.. Every time my uncle drove the car, it would grind through a set of push rods, So I have to do some digging into that situation before I can have some real fun..
I do plan on building this car with the original goal for this car in mind, It should be fun.
I hope to gain alot of knolage about ford engines, and the II' Cars here and hopefully share some of the knolage that I have
and the import..
