Well, as far as I know, the 68's have all the same problem areas as the earlier models. The 68's have a little more area in the engine compartment. I would say it all depends on which bodystyle you prefer, other than that I don't think there were any "major" differences between them.

This is my opinion ymmv

Other than styling, the main things would be engine bay and wheel well room, IMO.

A bigger engine compartment, a little bit more reinforcement in the 68 under the passenger side and the front suspension had some minor changes. A tad bigger all around.

As 1320 said, you gain a collapsible steering column and free yourself from the Spear-O-Matic. I was in the backseat of a 67 in a frt. end collision. The steering column went all the way to the roof!!!

On the interior, the dash eyebrows get bigger, the guages are bigger, the radio has a bezel that you can get an aftermarket one and cut it up to put a 1 DIN radio in and not worry about damaging the dash, they have a dome light (I think '66s do, my '65 doesn't) and hazard lights...

On the exterior, the tail light panel, the headlight buckets are deeper, the engine bay is wider, you can fit a 460 in there if you want, they came from the factory with FEs, bigger radiator...
