hey i just installed a bbk o/r h pipe and i have 2 small leaks i tried to fix but i was unable too. now my car surges the rpm's dont move but i can feel the car buck when i put it in drive with my foot on the brake. it even feels like its cutting out under throttle. the cars o2 sensors are broken off porior to me working on them. i recently deleted the smog pump, but in ran fine until i switch to the o/r h. would 2 small leaks cause this problem, when i had my stock h on it had a hell of a leak at the collector and never did this. thanks
ps if this post seems a little off its because ive been up since 7am working on the car and just ended at 8pm..lol. still not fixed

yeah..lol.. i dont have the cash to fix them right now..the porclen ( spelling ) part is what is broken the other part is installed on the bbk right now to prevent a leak at the holes. what would running without o2 sensors do to the car?..to be honest the car ran great prior to the bbk install. i ran a 14.5 1/4 on stock motor with aod trans shift kit and 4:10 gears..lol

i did notice tonight that at the flange near the muffle. it seems a bit too short like by half and inch. so i dont think its sealing enough it sound like im running with no muffler on that side. would that cause a situation with the cars performance...maybe not enoguh back pressure?..anyways im throwing up on the lift at work tomorrow and removing every bit of pipe and reinstalling from the header back to make sure all is well. and using ultra copper sealant on anything that connects together..lol

your 02's give ALOT of input at part throttle. so if your not getting readings AT all thats prob not very good. Exhaust leaks would not cause the prob you are describing.. i had like 7 different places where my h pipe was leaking and could not detect a diff after i got em welded up, other than it got louder.

you have broken oxygen sensors and are wondering if exhaust leaks are the issue?

Dude, replace your o2 sensors. Period.

They are a critical component of EFI motors. The contents of your exhaust gas are read by the o2 sensors, and the computer adjusts just about everything (how much fuel from your injectors - fuel/air mixture, timing, all sorts of ****) to keep your motor running smoothly based off of the real time data that the o2 sensors are getting.

Without info from the o2 sensors, your motor must be in limp mode right now, only running off of hypothetical tables that probably have little to do with your motor's current actual state of tune.
