For 2007, Car & Driver ran a shootout for the quickest production cars under $20K and another for quickest production car between $25K-$30K. The V6 Stang came in #1 for the under $20K and the GT fell in at #2 for the $25K-$30K

Wow, I knew the GT was technically second after the barely sub $30k Evo RS but I'm surprised that the V6 Stang is the fastest sub $20k car. Hmm, I wonder how much a used '05 V6 would cost?

A 2005 V6 should be in the $12,000 range.
They are great cars. Had one, but loving my 2007 GT.

cause trying to find the balance between clutch and throttle on a turbo car....with a turbo that im sure is small enough to have a lot of part throttle boost sucks lol take it from me...i used to own an Srt-4....it was a bitch to launch before i put a nice 50 trim in there

It was surprising on the V-6 end for sure, but you look at the numbers and aside from weight it's got some decent specs. Now imagine if the 4L was a little smoother and you'd have a really nice package.

And GT wise, not surprising, but as we could always argue, 5k difference in price would help the GT beat the Evo and stay with it handling wise and you'd have air, power windows, locks etc. I'm positive the Evo is a hoot to drive though.
