OK guys heres whats up, My car is not as fast as it should be, my mods are listed below.

My first ever run at the track was a 16.8 dues to my distributor cap being loose. After i fixed it i took it back to the track and the best time ive been able to pull off was a 15.0 with a .605 reaction time, a 2.0 60 foot and finnaly crossing the quarter at 92.8 mph.

I have tried changing the fuel filter, ive had my ignition module replaced

IM runnning 17 inch cobra rs on 255\40 r 17 kuhmo exsta supras

I alos belive my traction lock is burned out.

Any ideas

work on your launch, try to lower your 60ft time, dump some weight and shift like you're trying to break it!

The only mods I see that may be improving your times over stock is the gears and the headers. Your 60' time is not bad, mine is 2.325, best. I have only run my car 13 passes. Your mph is a bit low, look at mine in the sig. My car is pretty stock and that was on lowering springs without traction. Are you having any probs with spinning in first gear? What gear are you in when you get to the traps?

WHats the rev set at? What rpm's are you shifting at? Did setting the timing feel like it woke up the car? Whens the last time you have done a tune up? Cleaned the throttle body lately? Check engine light on?

The rpm limiter is set at 6500 rpms.
I got the car around 10000 miles ago it now has 50 000 miles on it i have changed fuel filter and had to swithc out and ingniton module. i havent cleand the throttle boddy nor have i given it a tuneup.

Yes when i first ran the 16.8 i found the problem when i tightened it down i drove the car and it was alot faster like it really woke it up.

Right now my oil pressure is normally around 75 and my water goes up to around 160.

With a stock block i recommend shifting at 5300 rpm.

plugs, wires, rotor and cap, i'd get a kirban regulator and a new fuel pump to make sure fuel is ok. check timing? clean the maf meter, put a k&n filter in if you dont have one. anything else is up to you. you can replace the heads, intake yada yada, depends on how much u care about peformance.

Replace: Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, oil and filter, trans fluid (ATF for T-5), diff fluid, air filter, PCV valve and screen coolant. Maby put a 180* stat, 160 is a little too cold. How old are the o2 sensors, if they are original, replace them.
Clean: Fuel system, IAC, TB and intake by spaying carb cleaner with engine running opening and closing throttle, MAF, engine flush, cooling system flush. Clean MAF carefully. Pull electronics out of the housing, clean out the housing and CAREFULLY clean the metal wires by either spraying electrical parts cleaner on them by holding the can as far back so it just barly hits the wires, or just dip them in it.
Set: timing to 14*, TPS to .998, reset computer.

The TPS is prolly not worth messing with if your engine is running good. You would need a digital volt meter to set it anyway. If you dont know how to change plugs, wires, cap and rotor, then get a Haynes manual. They can be had cheap on E-bay, or $15 at the auto parts store. These books are not the greatest, but can help you with general info. Read through the FAQ and tech articles here and on the www.corral.net. You will learn a lot that way. Just take your time, and you will learn all you need to know.

trapping at that mph, it seems like you still have the stock gears in there. That is the exact mph i trapped when i had 2.73's in my 87 GT.. What gear are you in when you trap?

lol your the most paranoid person Ive seen on here . Just b/c you have mods to support a faster time then what you think you should have run does not mean your going to run that time. It all comes down to Traction, track conditions and driver ablilty. 2 people w/ the exact same set up on 2 diffrnet mustangs will not run the same time. Just b/c you put on all the mods to support a 13.8 run b/c some guy has the same thing in his sig and that what he ran doesnt mean you will do it to. Driving at the track and driving on the street are 2 very diffrent things. I ran 94 MPH in my first trip to the drag strip and thats good for a 14.7-14.5 but I ran no where close to that b/c its diffrent driving at the track. Give your car a tune up, pratice more at the track and get some more power mods, thats all you can really do, theres nothing wrong w/ your car.
