The rear of my car is not level.

I thought the new suspension parts would fix this. I just installed new springs and shocks/struts. Then I noticed that it still seemed crooked so I used a tape measure to measure the height of the fender lips above the center of the wheels. The front is level but the rear passenger side is 1/4" higher, yes higher, then the driver side.

What could be causing this? Warped frame/unibody or something else in the suspension?

Thank you

one of my buddys is like that too. hes got an 89 saleen with a vortec/heads/cam/intake. runs like a raped ape. i asked him why his car looked twisted and he said that its from launching real hard and the frame is actually twisted from all the torque

Mine's never been race. Plus I think that "all that torque" would twist it so that the PASSENGER side would be lower and not the DRIVER side.

OK....mine was sitting low on one side as well. Changed springs for factory replacements....no fix. While changing the springs I noticed that the sway bar end links were a pain in the a$$ to re-install. I measured the length of the spacer tube and I'll be damned if some monkey didn't put a shorter one on the drivers side... Went and bought a new end link kit (all new hardware)...problem solved.

Just me...but, that's where I would start looking.

Hmm, you are referring to the front sway bar? I installed new endlinks from Energy Suspension at the same time I put in the Steeda sport springs with new isolators all around. Pigtails are properly positionned.

Did the Energy kit come with new spacer tubes? If so, did you use them?

If yes to both of those, how about your control arms (front and rear)?

Also, the twist I think you guys are refering to is body twist, without subframe connectors the body would show evidence of twisting just about at the roof line near the quater windows. That's where I've seen it before. Check the floor pans, torque boxes...

This is a tough one..I'll keep thinking...

Yes and yes.

All control arms are stock, so 10 years old, but some of them will be changed next winter. As for twist, I have a convertible, so even more vulnerable to it, but the 94 and up models came factory with some subframes. Probably not enough though. But shouldn't body twist do the opposite. The rear passenger side should be lower instead of higher, no?

Didn't read your sig...

But, I believe you're correct. Are the spring isolators still in place?

My passenger side is higher too, by 3/8". That is the way alot of them lean. I have been thinking of tweaking mine back a little past level, and then welding in full length subs. I dont think this will mess up anything else. My doors work real well, and I will check them before welding. They sometimes will bind when you tweak the body, such as jacking up one corner to change a tire.

I read a very long article once. This guy had a web page dedicated to the "mustang lean". He changed and checked everything, even had the car on a frame machine, and it all checked out. He never did fix the lean as far as I know.

My car has the same "lean". But it's the drivers side that is higher than the passanger side. I have replaced the spring isolators with no luck. I'm thinking about swaping the driverside springs to the passanger side this week. I've had this issue for at least a year.

The post right before yours. New springs, new isolators (energy suspension) on all four corners.

Not sure about switching springs. I just put in new springs, and I have the same lean. Maybe a bit less. Probably due to the fact that they are lowering springs.

My 87 also leans, but you shouldnt feel too bad. Everyone Ive seen does it, and all of the f-bodies seem to have the same problem. Its just one of those things I guess.
