I'm the new owner of a 90 Lx Notch with the 5.0 & 5spd. It's all original except for the 16" pony wheels. The car will be used for fun spirited... sorry, I meant to say reasonable driving with the Mrs. lol... I won't be auto Xing and don't need a corner carver.

Anyway, the goal is this, I would like to keep the comfort level in mind when replacing old deteriorating rubber bushings and upgrading other suspension parts.

I'm not looking to drop the car however, the Ford B springs are progressive with a spring rate of 425-530 lbs front and 200-300 lbs rear. I believe the factory spring rate is 400 lbs front and 185 rear. So, I'm thinking the B springs will add very little harshness over the stock springs and have minimal drop which I would be fine with. I would pair the springs with a quality single adjustable strut and shock. What do you guys think? Am I keeping the spring rate close enough to minimize the harshness while getting a small bump in handling. Thanks..

just so you are informed the B springs will lower the car about an inch. Read further down in the URL below.

I would go back with stock type bushings in the front control arms as well as the rear upper control arm mounts on the rear end. Moog makes good ones there. I would just replace the rear upper control arms with stock ones. Maximum Motorsports sells them as well as the tool to replace the bushings in the rear end. I would also run an after market rear lower control arm like the ones Maximum Motorsports makes.

For your intended use case i would just go with rubber bushings where applicable. Probably don't need polyurethane or anything like that.

New shocks/struts all around and maybe even new quad shocks as well. If you do lower it at least spring for some that can handle lowered cars and potentially a higher spring rate.
