Car Jerks When I Put It In Reverse

About half the time I put my car in reverse, it takes about 2 seconds, then it jerks, like I got hit. Also, sometimes when I park on hill going up, it is hard to get it out of park. Does anyone have any advice on what is going on and what I need to get checked out? Any information will be helpful. Thanks

Mine will do that, but less frequently. I kinda sit there going "come on, get in reverse already" then BAM, it jumps in with a nice jolt.

Been experiencing the same myself! I don't know the cause or solution but I know that (especially if I park on a hill) that if I set the emergency brake BEFORE I take my foot off the brakes and it rarely ever happens. Just an FYI I guess...

I had this issue, and was advised that though it (obviously) was caused by the transmission, it was fairly normal in the "new" mustangs
