It all started about 2 weeks ago I got home pulled in the driveway shut my car off like always. Get in and was asked to move my car in the street by my mother so I said in one minute. I went out started the car and it instantly shut off. I tried a few times and was wondering what was wrong. I slowly did it and noticed the Fuel Pump did not turn on.
I did some research and checked the inertia switch, it was fine. I then located my fuel pump relay switch under the drivers seat. I replaced it, and like magic the fuel pump worked! I was in business!
Not quite the next day after a little of driving it, the same thing happened. The car would start but the fuel pump would not go on and the car shuts off because there is no fuel being cycled. A friend of mine says it could be my fuel pump, but I dont want to have to change the fuel pump if its not really the problem! I have another relay switch to throw in, but I dont want to ruin another one. I think it may have someone to do with my audio setup but I have had my setup for over a month and now the problem is occuring.
Anyways if anyone has some clues or ideas on what I can do let me know. I really want to drive my car again before the snow comes!! What lph fuel pump does a 1990 Mustang GT come with anyways? And if I did replace the fuel pump would I hurt the car going for a 190lph or 255lph one?
