car just stopped running

I was in my mustang tonight. I hit it to about 4k, switched gears, 4k, switched. I get to the stop sign, the car just dies. I try to start it back up. the electric fan and the radio came on no problem so it was not the battery. I turned the key to the on, I heard the fuel pump come on. Tried to start the car. It would sound good but would never start. It would give that first startup noise but never start. Anyone have any ideas on what you would check after the battery and fuel pump that I already checked. It just sounds like the fuel is not getting to the motor

If you dont think fuel is getting to the motor, I'd check fuel pressure and injector pulsing.

Otherwise, see Jrichker's Cranks but No Start list (in the Tech Sticky). Run the list and you will find the issue in a quick and systematic way.
