I bet that is where your problem is. Has your Vortech bracket been coated yet?

So I'm going to attempt to grind some off tonight. Yes, my bracket has already been powdercoated for the Vortech.

might as well grind the powder off the Vortech bracket as well. And if you think about selling your stock alt bracket I want first dibs! (Might go turbo in the near future!)

I'll sell you my stock alt bracket. It's powdercoated Dormant Blue tho.

But first, can you please tell me the best way to get the serpentine belt off this car?

well usually you can grasp the belt with both hands on either side of the idler pulley on top and push down with all your might and pull the belt toward you.
