These past two days my car hasnt been idling right at all. Basically when i start it up, it just dies and doesnt idle. The only way it even idle or able to dirve is long as i have my foot on the gas pedal. So basically for me to dirve this is what i have to do. Start the car up, car dies. Start up again, quickly give it gas, give it very little gas and (i know this is stupid to do, but only way it works) put clutch in and shift into gear while still giving it a little bit of gas. Then let go of clutch and give it more power and away i go. But if i come to a complete stop even if i have the clutch in the car doesnt idle it just dies on me. no matter what i do the car doesnt idle and dies, unless i give it gas. Then finially after awhile maybe 30 min of driving the car will finally idle, but when it idle the rpms are between 0-500 and feels like its going to die on me at any second. Does anyone got a clue to what is wrong with it?

IAC valve on the front of ur plenum. unbolt it and clean it with carb cleaner, it'll be fine.

hehe finally glad i could help with that. Exact same thing happened to me. Its simply a dirty plenum, just take it to the dealership and they will clean it for ya. OR get a new plenum

it's not the plenum being "Dirty" thats making it die. it's the IAC, its a very common problem on the 4.6's with that bypassing valve getting clogged.

Just wondering if you got your problem fixeD?

A simple clean would hold you over, but I guess it's like pluggin' a tire... It will hold, though you still need a new one

It's the IAC or a bad base idle setting.

The job of the IAC is to deliver air to the engine when at idle so you don't have to hit the gas to open the TB. Before you clean anything, make sure the wire harness on the IAC is connected properly. If you pull out this wire harness on a car that's running properly, it will do just what you have described.

I don't think cleaning is going to do jack for your IAC if it's that bad. Replace it if it's not a problem with the wire harness.
