On my Grand Am GT, I need to run some daytime lights that as soon as I start the car they have to be ON. Right now, this model doesnt have that. I'm suppose to turn the "arm/knob" to activate the lights.

Anybody knows how the hell I'm suppose to do this and what I need to do it ?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Mario

not really a proper way to do it, but it could work..

unscrew the arm/knob without unplugging the wires if it can be done..

start the car, turn the arm/knob to the position you want, look wich wire get some juice, then cut this wire (let enough wire on the arm/knob if one day you change your mind) connect your wire to a vacant slot that got juice only when the car is started, put a 20amp fuse and your ready to go!

Yeah I guess that could work. After slicing and having the right wire found for the lights, do you mean :

* to put it in directly in the fuse panel under the dash to a fuse which has power only to the KEY / ON position in a 20amp slot

or

* to put a in-line 20amp fuse and then to put it in the fuse panel under the dash to a fuse which has power only to the KEY / ON position in a 20amp slot again ...(seems to not make any sense to put (2) 20amp fuses..)

???

I kinda just found another way with a relay but not sure about it. Looks ok though. What do you think ?

What year is the grand am Mario?

Like The Dammned said you can find the live wires and make sure it always has power once the key is turned.

Mario, I would say the first option you said.. to plug it directly on the fuse panel, not trought 2 fuse..

Its my 92 Grand Am GT
Just found out that it HAD the driving day headlights from factory. Meaning my Module is busted propably. 250$ at the dealer. Now I'm wondering if I jack up some stuff in those wires if I'm goinna screw everything up...

Just bought a automobile 30amp relay. 10$ new. Not sure if I want to install it now.

Got myself the diagram for the DDL. The same wire joins both regular lights not the "high" ones. Spliced in it and put a wire on it and attached it to some fuse. Well I'm at that part now. Will finish it up tomorrow morning. I testet the wire directly on the battery and it workrd so it will 99% work on the fuse. Thanks
