ok this is what happens. just started happen recently too

when i drive my car i get this hesitation like it has no power for a couple seconds then all of a sudden the power comes back and it shoots like a bat out of hell so to speak. happens a little bit through out the RPM range. feels like the car lost a lot of power.

only thing i did recently was New Starter, Coil

checked codes and all came back fine

Could be your fuel regulator. I have a bog problem on my GMC and when I asked the mechanic about it, he thought it was most likely a bad fuel regulator. Might be worth looking into (as he's a chevy guy, he could be completely wrong too

Check for simple things first, spark plug wires, see if any touched the header and got burned, check for any vacuum leaks, see what your fuel pressure is at. Check timing also.

well for a long while i was dealing with a a lean code problem on my car. code 41/91

found out after a while that my fuel pressure with the FPR connected to vaccuum was at 32 psi. with it no vacuum ;line connected to it was 41 psi. so i decided to drive around with the line not connected to the FPR with the line plugged and the code went away. but it drove fine.

but just now i decided to unplug the line and hook it back up and it drove the same as it was recently, maybe even a little worse.

then my starter went. got it replaced and about 3 days after that my problems started with the really bad hesitation. if you looked at the Tach you could see the RPM stay steady like a flat spot where the RPM dint go up when on the gas and then as soon as the power came back the RPM matched with the power and shot up.

i also changed the fuel filter.

i dont really know what a miss is but i thought this could be it??

so i got spark plugs ready to go in too. maybe with the lean codes it fouled up the plugs

and the car gurgles on de acceleration when it down shifts. sounds cool but dont know if really normal

Plugging and unplugging that vac line is going to screw with the EEC (it assumes the line is plugged-in and that there's that spread between idle and WOT FP).

Have you checked your TPS for a dead spot?

MAF or SD car?

You need to run it through its range of motion (KOE-Off) and see if there is a dead spot.

I like to use an analog VOM because it's easy to see the needle fall. You just move the TPS through its range of motion as slowly as you can while watching for the voltage reading to drop at any spot.
