I put in a new coil and disconnected the Ignition box. It will cruise over 2k in any gear but it will sputter and hesitate under it. Would a faulty dizzy cause something like this? Anybody with similiar experience.

My cam isnt too aggressive i does have a 114 lobe. But this problem just developed it didn't happen for the first 400 miles. I will check the MAF. What are the symtoms of a bad dizzy.

I would think if it were the dizzy, the problem would occur throughout the RPM band and not just down low.

Do a quick once over of all the sensors and connectors to see if they are dirty, or if something came loose/disconnected. Start with the 'dumb' stuff and go from there.

Is the CEL on? What about the condition of the plugs and wires?

The ignition box could have distressed a plug wire, as could a wide plug gap.

If you let the car run in the dark, you might see spark leaking from the wires. I use a spray bottle and spray water around the wires and boots (be careful of moving parts. It's tough to see since you do this in the dark). The water mist acts as a medium or conduit to help show you where spark is leaking. If a wire is leaking, it looks like blue pixie dust.
