Well this past week i have installed a new stator, walbro 255 in-tank,new battery, and new plug wires.

I have got to drive the car for about 5 minutes of which i noticed that the timing was off so i undid the bolt and was going to adjust it and well now I just can't seem to get it timed right and fire off. I'm getting really pissed at the car and if I can't get it to run soon am contemplating selling it.
I have never had to go more than 2 days without being able to drive it. The car has been extremly reliable but now I just so pissed I don't know what to do. How can I get this damn thing started?

It would be a coincedance but I think your pick up coil might of gone south on you since its timing related check for spark at the ignition coil and have the ignition coil and the TFI module tested if they test out good then likely the pick up coil failed

Since you have your timing light out and hooked up, does the light trigger while someone cranks the motor over? If so, the PIP and ignition would appear ok and it's a timing matter.

If your timing magically changed, I'd have initially been thinking balancer more than timing. If you didnt mark the relative location of the dizzy to the intake (A relative starting point), do it now and then have someone crank the car over while you slowly move the dizzy (as if advancing or retarding the timing) until it catches. Let it warm up and then pull the SPOUT connector and time it for real. If it runs like poo thereafter, check that balancer. You timing marks might simply be skewed, making the use of a timing light to time the car useless.

Oh, make sure your plug wires all seated and that you have fuel pressure (to make sure nothing went wonky with your installs)

Good luck Chris.

Thanks for the info JT. I got so pissed at the car that I had it towed to a guy that works on hot rods. He is gonna work on mine first thing in the morning. After he replaces the valves on a 347 nitrous assisted fox body.

I have never let this guy work on my car but everyone around here swears by him. I was told if he can't set the timing and get it running good then trash the car LOL.

As pissed as i am at the car I'm ready to BURN IT TO THE GROUND!

That sounds like a plan. It should take him but a few mins to figure it out if it's timing related (you could have I'm sure, were you not holding a torch in your other hand, and sick of workin on the car).

I think you had a friend that was going to come look at the dizzy install - it must be a doozy if he couldnt get it either.

Good luck with it being a quick fix/adjustment!

Oooh, they really dont like that. Even if you work on another car and then dont give the stang some TLC, it'll get ticked.

You have a 5.0 SN95 snake - you cant get rid of it (I'd love to have one)!

Well I was offered 7k by the dealer, who is a cobra fanatic. Which is a lot (or so i think) for a 95 cobra with 188k miles on it. I told him I would have to get back with him and after sleeping on the idea I just couldn't get rid of the car. We have been together for 5 years which is longer than any relationship I have ever been in.

Yeah. That would help others in the future.

I was going to search for your previous post to see if you got the timing right but this post answers the ?. I guarantee it's something minor. Sometimes when you are so into it and angry you can't see the forest from the trees, if you know what I mean, and just need someone else to take a look at it. But don't kick yourself if its something minor just make some long black marks.

Example: When I put my car back together and installed a new fuel pump I turned the key and nothing. I thought the pump was bad or something - went back into the tank (mad as hell) and everything was ok. Again, turned the key and nothing. Then I started tesing fuses etc etc. Just so happen I was talking my brother about the problem and he reminded me that I had an ignition kill switch . Flipped the switch and she fired right up. I couldn't see the forest from the trees.

Note: Just be patient. I know it's hard but be patient and think things thru. If you have kids go play with then for a minute to get your mind off of the car then the next day after you've rested get back into it.

Not a sermon but a word from the wise.

Peace

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the stock ignition module to the shop for the guy to try,... well here it goes. The performance distributors dyna mod i bought does not say in the instructions to take the cooling fins off the stock ign. mod. and put it on the dyna mod. Therefor it looks like its prolly burnt up internally. If that don't work tom. i'll be on my way go to buy a coil.

No I installed an ignition kill switch for theft protection. It's hidden in the car where no one knows. Just flip the switch and you can't start the car.

BAD NEWS!

Update!

Well now everything has been tried mechanically so now the mechanic has told me to take it to an auto. electronics specialist in town. Well im sure my insurance is loving paying all these towing bills. I am really hoping its nothing major. I'm sure whatever it is will prolly cost me out the ass.

ok now the electric specialists freaked out when i told him what all i replaced on the car and didn't want to work on it. After I told him who the mechanic was (most reputable person in town) he said he would do it that it is $55 an hour and wanted to know how deep i was willing to get in.

This is rediculous Chris. When you are missing something like spark, it's not hard to diagnose.

If you wanna dig into it, I'll post some tech.

I agree....I assume he tested the TFI ??? I guess it could have fried itself?? Did you put dielectric grease on the back??
A coil rarely goed bad as I'm sure he tested that?.
How about another dizzy to throw in it...That'll tell something real quick, seems odd you swap the stator and it freaks out...I would lean towards something right there.
I would assume its holding no codes???
Did the spout take a dump??? a continiuty test would prove that out.
Good luck with it...No wonder you wanna burn it...
