This morning at had to be at clinicals about 10 minutes ago. I went outside to turn on the car, and as I turn the ignition key, I hear a click and all the power goes out without the engine turning over I tried in gear and in neutral. So I'm sitting thinking what it could me, then I open the door(interior lights are not on), pop open the hood, then my lights come on. I could turn my headlights on and so I proceded to turn the ignition key and "click", engine doesn't turn over and the power goes out.

The power eventually comes back on within 30 seconds, but immediately turns off once I turn the ignition key. Could it be my starter motor pinion stuck in the flywheel?

Lately things all of a sudden have been screwing up on the car(transmission cooler line came lose, rear drum cyclinders leaking and left drum spring missing, transmission problems,etc.... Now I really believe the Fix Or Repair Daily saying

Well you can test the starter solenoid, by pulling off the small red wire from the small post. Then use a screw driver to jump from the positive side post of the solenoid to the small stud, see if you here it click. If you here it click it means the solenoid is working.

Put the car in neutral, e-brake on and connect the small red wire, put a screw driver between both of the posts on the solenoid and see if the starter runs, the car should start, if you are worried about it starting pull the coil wire off.

If the battery is good (check all connections and clean terminals/cables), then it is the starter.

This was all assuming you have a stock starter, 1 wire not a late model mini.

Sounds like a loose batter wire, try tapping or turning the cables on the battery posts, that should get you going.

Ok...find out everytime I was tapping on the battery cables, power would come on. Appears that the positive cable is loose. I just don't have any sockets at the moment to tighten it. It did start up! Just don't know if I should risk taking it somewhere where I can borrow some sockets, so I'm just going to wait on a friend.

Probably don't need anything, all you need is a set of plyers or a 1/2 inch, tap it down with something & put your hand on it & slightly twist it till it's snug again, all you got to do is twist or tap if it happens while your out.
