Well I got the car rurnning and everything, the engine runs real good and seems strong except I'm having carb problems with my old 650cfm double pump. First I think I got too much carb for my engine's current setup with stock heads. Second the carb isn't running right, I'm running too lean and my secondaries are opening too fast causing some hesitation when I hammer the gas. Third the carb base plate is warped and (not sure if that's the problem but) the carb whistles like a SOB!

So me wanty a new carby! I'm thinking a smaller carb like a 600cfm double pump or a simpler street avenger 570cfm carb with vacuum secondaries. My engine's setup is for lower RPM and is not a high revving beast so currently my carb doesn't match the stock heads, and .500/.500 & 224/2245 durr. cam. My airgap intake is 1500 to 6000 rpm if I remember (dual plain).

This engine dynoed at 288hp flywheel this weekend but I think it could be better!

If you need a vacuum secondary carb, why not get a Edelbrock 600 w/o a choke? A single pumper will work just as good as a double and should be easier to tune for you.

BTW: Is your engine a 351 (your screen name)
