I'm sure you know after 703 posts that this will thread will get flamed all to hell.
However, I like the look of carbon fiberhoods and there is a hood available at the website below that I think is pretty sweet. It kinda looks like a carbon fiber version of a Saleen hood and I've thought about ditching my Q400 hood for one. As far as weight savings, my fiberglass Steeda hood is supposidly 20 lbs lighter than the stock hood. So I would think the carbon fiber hoods would be good for 20+ lbs.
hmmm, anyone know how much weight savings i can get from just adding a fiberglass cobra r hood? is the pin on one lighter? also, ho much does the sound deadening material weigh and where is it. I do not think it is worth removing. Just asking.
There is a lot of different opinions about the cf hoods. I personally like them, especially on a Black car. FYI they also make cf hoods that have the tints in the cf. They have colors such as red blue and maybe YELLOW. If you have a yellow car you might like the look of the Yellow tinted ones!
If you put on that hood, and some wheels with black centers and polished lips, and maybe a carbon fiber trunklid or paint the spoiler black. I think it would look pretty good. I think you would need some black accents on the side too.
^^yep you would need the black accents to give it a better look. the vent setup would be the only thing that worries me. cold water (rain) and a hot motor... either way the hood still looks pretty damn good. all the more reason to paint the steeda wing black when i get it later on.
