$500 shipped---ouch..... but considering I dont have to paint it if I grabbed one.... its pretty much the same as a painted fiberglass.

I guess I dont want to invest in the big bucks just to TRY it out. I need to see some other suckah at fun ford this year to make my decision!

For now, ill just finish up the eng bay and throw in the new setup, worry about hoods later.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT!!!

I looked on e-bay and some of them are expensive. I do like the look of them, and I am thinking about it. I know for a fact that VIS is a good company cause I had it on my Mazda. Very good quality plus the fact I waxed it every time I washed my car.

I may see if I can find it locally instead of paying close to $200 for shipping.

ive got one on my GTI, and i like it (came with it) but i dont think it would look good on a fox body unless it was an aero car with like a carbon fiber scheme to it. like the one in MM&FF a while ago. it was two tone. the bottom was red and the top was carbon fiber. it looked pretty good.

but if you get one with the intention of painting it because they are light as fack!!

Most of the carbon fiber hoods out there are not all carbon fiber & aren't any lighter than a typical fiberglass hood. They take a glass hood and bond a layer of CF on top of it. A true all CF hood is very expensive.

I know I would love to find some fenders, that should drop some weight combined with a CF hood.

That is a deal go price the parts to build a carbon fiber hood. You are cheap!

You guys are forgetting the most important question about an aftermarket hood, and it's not cost or where to get it, it's how does it fit.
And from what i know there are only 2 reliable hood companies, Cervinis and Harwood.

Thank you. Carbon Fiber is awesome because of how light it is, but unpainted they just look really gay. Not even ricey (even though they seem to like the mismatched parts deal), but really, extremely, unforgettably, undoubtedly gay!
