Im building a 408W mainly for the track. I am looking for what it takes to run a carbed motor, but I dont know much about what Is needed to do so. I know i will obviously need the intake manifold and carbs. I would go with the edelbrock dual quad intake manifold with 2, 500 cfm carbs on top.

But my question is what else do I need I know I need a different fuel pressure regulator because they use less pressure. But what else is there?

I will be using a fuel cell in the trunk with an aeromotive A1000 inline electric fuel pump and filter.

Thanks for any info

I found a kit offered by aeromotive that seems to have everything needed to run from a fuel cell to the carb.

This seems like a nice kit to me

any reason in particular you are running two carbs? normally it's better to use just one. You usually end up with the same or better power, and two carbs are much harder to tune together than one.

But you will need the intake, carbs, special throttle linkage to link the two carbs, and that's about it besides the fuel system. Just run a distributor made for a carbed engine with coordinating ignition parts. If you're running a mechanical fuel pump, you'll need a fuel pump eccentric.

cool, so it looks like Ill have everything in order then.

I would like to run 2 carbs because I always liked dual quads for some reason. not only that I heard they made good power

run a 750 dominator then. If you are going to run dual quads look for a mid rise intake something like the old Shelby Mustangs used to have but for a sm block instead.

I suggest you go with a single intake such as a victor jr or a victor. A Holley Ultra HP carb or a race demon carb are good choices. I run a mildly modified holley double pumper on my drag mustang.

Is the engine for a street/fun car or straight up race/quarter mile only? This is gonna change everything depending on what you wanna do with it.

What cam/heads are you using?

If it's a street engine, you probably want a duel plane intake (i'd suggest a Wieand Stealth) and a vacuum secondary carb. If you're going full race just go with a Victor Jr. intake and mechanical secondaries.

Don't make the mistake of getting too much carb...more cfm doesn't equal more power. Don't make the mistake of thinking "oh i want all the power i can get on the street so give me the race setup" because you'll suffer a big loss of bottom end/low RPM power with a single plane intake.
