i got my car back today, i am really happy. i get to wash it and put a fresh coat of wax on it tomorrow if the weather permits. can't wait to start driving the thing to school. no one has a screaming 5.0 fox at SPC.

so we had it warming up, and my mechanic told me to spank it down the side road. i cracked a crooked grin and asked him "spank it?" so i put putted out of the the shop road. started pulling out made half the turn and dropped the skinny pedal, grabbed second and it hooked like a champ. car straightened up with out any convincing. the car was running great.

the problems, the PO had a wiring nightmare going on. some really stupid stuff that was just kind of like WTF Mate. and other stuff that really took some time. the new ECU dropped in and was causing the idle to act weird, it didnt want to stay running and was only idling at about 500 R's. also throttle response was not as crisp as it was with the chip. the only thing that was good about not having my old diablo chip in was that my slugish throttle return problem WAS gone. but we decided to toss the chip back in to make everything run better. all of the initial problems were taken care of IE: dash lights, and directional lights are working.

all in all he had put around 20+ hours in work on my stang. even though its been in there since the middle of november, which was becoming VERY frustrating especially when i started school last week. the good side, i know once he finally got done with the "Rain of Wreckers" and could put quality time into my vehicle he made it right.

cost of my slow mechanic who does a great job when he gets to it: 270 dollars
price for remand ECU: 75 dollars
total cost: 345

so i guess i faired pretty freaking good on this save for the time. but being that he said i was a patient as i could possibly be he gave me a hell of a deal.

all in all i am really happy the weather better be good tomorrow cause i got one dirty ass mustang that is begging for a scrub down.
