Besides trimming the carpet what do I need to know about installing it? Should I use adhesive to keep it down or just rely on the bolts that go through it. And also i have a interior fastener kit that came with screws that are labeled "CARPET>FLOOR w/o CONSOLE"...does anybody know where these screw into? there are 10 of them. Thanks for any help

Tough one. I know that two of mine are located on either side of the tran tunnel. I didn't use much else as the seats hold down the carpet, the sill plates hold it down and tucking it under the kick panels. All else should be over kill

Carpet and Glue

agree with not having to use glue as seats, etc are more than adequate to anchor the carpet ... the only place where you may have to use glue (and that nasty 3M panel adhesive is excellent) is for the couple of vertical pieces on the rear seat risers **IF** your car has these .... the 67 FB does and that's the only place where I had to use an adhesive .... sorry, can't help with the screws though as I have a full console .... apologize as I'm a recent subscriber to this forum and haven't built up my "identity sheet" yet .... someday ....

Could the screws be for the sill plates?

It's been about a year sine I installed the carpet/seats into my 70.

Make sure that when you have the carpet out, you spray the floor pans with some type of rust protection. It's cheap insurance.

Personally I used the 3m adhesive, and like how it held everything down around the tunnel without causing any bubble like shapes to form. Just trim the carpet, lay it down, and see what you think.

This combined with the seats gave the interior a completely new life.

If the screws were for the sill plate he would have about 20 of them. I think there are 10 holes in each of the sill plates.

I don't think you will need any glue. Geo is right...the seatbelt bolts, seats, kick panels, sill plates and shifter bezel all server to keep the carpet in place.

I actually just finished an interior project on my 65 in which I stipped the paint and applied POR to the floor pans. I used fatmat to cut down on sound vibrations.

i just put in my sill plates yesterday. nine screws for each side. I didnt use any adhesive. i think the seats and sill plates should be enough to hold everything down.
