I have an 89 LX Coupe, the interior is all red and looks decent but I want to convert to black. Is it an exspensive conversion or can alot of stuff be painted? Also i want to know how difficult it is install new black carpet, mine is in OK condition but its kinda worn around the floor mats. Any help will be greatly rewarded with my respect, thank you. :spot:

I recently installed a black carpet in my stang. I ordered a 8020 pile which is really durable. As far as installation goes.........everything will basically have to come out of the car. Luckily my car was stripped to the bone and I just installed it when I was putting all my interior back in. Just make sure you have a nice sharp knife, and remember to take you sweet time. Dont want to cut a hole in the wrong spot. When I finished mine It was definately worth it. I recommend it.

You can buy a complete black interior without carpet or seats for 2-300 dollars from what I've seen. I have no experience dying

I just put new carpeting into my mustang, and what a world of difference it makes to the interior. Everything looks brand new now. The installation itself was not very difficult, just annoying getting everything fit back in. Make sure that you make every cut very carefully (seat belts, center console) so you don't have to explain to your friends why there is a bunch of holes in your brand new carpet. The install is just basically cut and fit. I got my carpet from ACC, and it fit in perfectly. The carpet sits higher (it's new), so it can be a pain trying to fit the center console and some of the side paneling back on
