The original shims on the left and right add up to .5375
The new shims that created the correct amount of backlash add up to .543
That is .0055 more bearing preload.
is that too much extra preload?
everything is installed, havent gone on a test drive yet though.
I don't think you should be concerned by it, unless you mic'd the bearing races on the old bearings and the new bearings before you installed them and they were identical. The races could account for that small of a difference on their own. Just my opinion though, I'm definitely not a professional. lol
