Is this part necessary w/ 4.10 gears? Does anyone have this? I took the following from ShelbyPerformanceParts.com :

Carrier Cross Shaft Performance : Carrier Cross Shaft

Manufacturer: .
Special Carrier Cross Shaft
This shaft is used in 3.73 ratio and numerically higher
Part # F-8.8-CSL
$41.95

Special Notes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The cross shaft retains the spider gears and c-clips in your differential and needs to have special clearance cut into it to clear the larger ring gears. Do not take any chances on the integrity of your rear end and be sure to include this special cross shaft with any ring and pinion gears sets that are 3.73:1 and numerically higher. We recommend you have a drive train shop install this shaft along with your ring, pinion and install kit for proper adjustment and operation

Just reinstalled oem crossshaft in mine as it only had slight scuff/polish wear on it, no actual groove/step wear. Just remember to either replace the cross shaft lockpin or clean well and use loc-tite before reinstalling. Never had any problems with clearance as that ad suggested.
