I'm wondering what colors any of you painted the applique? I have an 03 Dark Shadow Grey coupe, I'm thinking of painitng the applique flat black. I heard most people did a gloss black or their cars original color. Has any one done it in flat black? If so does it make the applique more tacky looking? Personally I dont mind a stick on unit as thats all the stock hood scoop is so whats the difference right? Any way let me know what you think? Any pictures of a Dark Shadow with the applique would be awesome as well. Thank you

Its painted flat black or primer? The CDC site really doesnt say, just says its ready to paint. Also if it comes flat black, do you think it would benefit from paint? I was thinking of painting it and then getting some of that clear bra stuff to cover the whole thing.

If I were you, I'd go with the DSG (the body color). Take a look at this pic (this is with a Mach 1 hood so not exactly the same thing as you, but the look is awesome ... IMO anyway).

Definitely paint it

It's not already painted, it's just already black.

I had mine on my hood for a week or so before I got it painted to match (true blue) and it just didn't look good. The black is not even across the surface.

You can see my pics below.

Thanks for the pics guys, I guess I will put it on unpainted and drive for a couple days (I know it wont be the same as painted flat black, but I guess it will at least give me an idea)... I'm still fairly set on Flat back as a tribute to the origonal Mach's but if it looks like utter ass I guess I'll get her painted. I'll post pics when I get it on
