Ok... I've heard several stories about what the circuit board mounted in the center speaker hole on the 86 (and others) Fox bodies. Anyone know it's true purpose?

It is there to probe your mind while you drive your stang. It reports back to the 'mothership' as a means to collect data on 4 eyed fox drivers.

That's the most plausable theory I've heard yet. Here's hoping that the mothership is as confused as the rest who've tried to enter my mind!

It's an amplifier.... Hmmmm... that might explain why I'm not getting the clarity I expect from the speakers that I recently installed.

I'll take a much closer look at it when I get the time. I wouldn't mind removing that whole thing and putting one of those small OEM woofers that I've seen in some of the newer cars. Maybe a trip to the junk yard for a very late model Dodge (they've got some very nice sounding stereo systems) might find me what I'm looking for.
