Hey guys,I was just wondering how hard it would be to paint my car a new color, It's Ultra blue/Titanium and all the door jams, engine bay is all blue just wondering how hard it is to paint it an all new color i have only done touch up paint and Navy Helo's *camo gray*. So I was just wondering if anyone has ever done there car in an all new color and what the process consists of. Sounds like alot of work, any tips or pointers would be great.

Well, i looked into it, and financially it doesn't pay.
Adds at least 30% to the cost of the paint job, and in some cases places give prices of 50% more, i'm guessing to discourage you from doing it.

To do a proper color change, in my opinion, engine needs to come out and everything painted. Engine Bays, doors, jambs, hatch, you name it.

Lowers the value of the vehicle IMHO if you pop the hood on a red car and see a blue engine bay.

im with you in that one. i have done many cars top to bottom. imo everything needs to come out, interior and all! its worth it if you plan on showing the car, take a look at mine in my profile, this would be close to 10,000 all hand airbrushed, and hand striped so that adds quite a bit to a paint job, mine is also cleared so you cant feel the paint lines.

It depends how picky you are. I wish I can find it, but I saw a post on another forum where the guy painted his whole car using spray cans from Touch Up Paint Online - Remove Car Scratches. It came out really good, but it was tens of hours of work preping all the surfaces and covering up areas that you don't want to paint.
