Chattering breaks????

My passenger side breaks chatter like crazy when i hit a bad spot in the road and I cant figure out what it is. Ive checked all the bolts and stuff and its all nice and tight. But if i hit a spot and they chatter, then put the breaks on it will quit, does this mean my pads are bouncing around or something? Its done this forever just forgot to ask about it till now. Thanks guys!

I've found that some parts store pads have the holes for the bolts drilled a little too loose. When you hit bumps, the calipers would bouce and rattle around.

I ended up getting a different brand of pads to fix it.

EDIT: that was when i had stock brakes on my car

When speaking of friction interfaces, chattering is a reflection on performance. Do yours chatter or are they just noisy?

Sticky caliper slide pins can allow clicking/clunking from brakes. When the pedal is depressed, it loads the caliper and quiets them up.

Are all your anti rattle clips there?

EDIT: I had that problem on my Cobra and it was the clips. Not sure if Fox front brakes have them.
