Hi. I'm on my 3rd tail light bulb and my car only has 16,000 miles. My dealer says they use Sylvanias and implied they were .

Does anyone know of a more reliable/heavier duty bulb? I looked online and couldn't find anything. Its a total pain replacing them.

Also, I'm getting sequentials; a directly plug in replacement (not the splice kind) for the factory harness. I viewed them on YouTube and they're hot. Can't wait!

Is it the same tail-light bulb that keeps blowing out? At my work we use super cheap bulbs and they last quite a long time, im talking bulbs that are about $.25 a piece

Just to be on the safe side make sure you handle the bulbs using a paper towel or disposable gloves because if you don't the bulb life will be severely reduced.

Something to think about if you aren't doing that already.

Thanks! I'll be sure to be careful. I heard about not touching HIDs with fingers so I'll do the same with these.

It has something to do with the oils that your skin produces basically sticking to the bulb and getting really hot (and staying hot) when the bulb lights up. That supposedly shortens the bulb's life span.

Actually, Sylvania does make a Long Life bulb, it is available at Autozone. It has an LL in the bulb number. After a second tail light bulb failed in my '06 I switched all my bulbs to LL bulbs. So far, so good.

Those bulbs are not easy to change either.
Why didn't Ford make the access a bit easier?
