Ok guys...this August, I'm putting the car up on a chassis dyno. Thing is, I need a new transmission...always have, still do..it's robbing serious power. I'm running 13.7's at 104 mph with this tranny....and I'm looking to put out some decent dyno numbers, to give me an idea of what to expect when I *do* get my transmission in.

I'm looking for cheap/free ways to boost PEAK horsepower right now! Give me ANY ideas...even some that aren't necessarily safe. This motor is TOUGH...it's been run lean, run rich, revved to almost 7000 rpms on stock bottom end....it will not give out.

I'm running 42 psi of fuel pressure on the street...I'm going to try dialing it back to about 40 (stock pressure) for the dyno...

What about spark plugs? Any tricks I can do with the gaps to make power? I know I can index them for a better flame front....

Any other cheapies?

Thanks guys. Hey....263 horsepower is better than 260 horsepower......when all people are REALLY looking at is your peak output, right?

Sorry man, that's not gonna fly.. Remember..bad trans. Adding that much horsepower would make it blow on the dyno....and I think they'd be pretty mad if I ended up shooting tranny fluid all over their nice pretty dyno..

7k rpm on the stock tach is not really 7k. factory rev limiter is at 6125. I have missed a shift and buried the tach needle, it hurts to watch. but I would suggest higher octane, and up the timing clean the air filter, new fuel filter. adjust tps voltage. That is about all I can think of.

Well it's hard for me to believe that I haven't passed 6,000 rpms already, especially with my 4.10 gears.... I've never felt any kind of rev limiter so far...it just keeps pulling and pulling...

Now here's what I'm curious about. I've heard in the past that adding timing adds low-end and takes away top-end. Is that true, or does it depend on the engine, setup, and other specific factors?
